Shana:

Died on January 16th, 2003.

Name: Shana
Breed: Rot/Lab mix. Maybe some black and tan coonhound too.
Birthday: December 6, 1996
Weight (avg): 70 Ibs
Gender: Female
Traits: Very intelligent and protective. High energy and extremely playful. Food aggressive and somewhat cranky.
Favorites: Balls, balls and more balls, pig ears, swimming, fetching and retrieving, fly ball and learning new tricks.

Shana (named after Brendan Shanahan, Detroit Red Wings hockey player) was our first dog. She was a Humane Society adoption. Shana was very intelligent, which can be both good and bad. She would pick up things quickly but always test the rules bestowed on her. You could pretty much teach her a trick or command in a day. She wasn't very good with other dogs, mostly because she wanted to always dominate our attention, which included play time, etc.

Shana loved to swim, you couldn't keep her away from the water. We even had a kiddie pool in the yard, which she wanted to stay in all the time. That is if she wasn't playing ball. It was hillarious to watch her actually lay down in the pool. And of course, she knew the pool was hers. Then again, she felt all the toys we had we hers.

Shana also loved to play soccer. We would play keep away, where I'd dribble a soccer ball around so she couldn't touch it. She would always have a toy in her mouth. She'd be so happy when she could slobber her drool all over the soccer ball.
